Information you enter stays on your device

Everything you create in PepStax — vials and blends, reconstitution values, reconstitution and review dates, activity logs, notes, self-reported check-ins, reminders, and app settings — is stored locally on your device only. It is not transmitted to us, and we have no ability to see it. If you export a backup, that file is created on your device and shared only if and where you choose to send it. Uninstalling the app removes this data from your device.

Microphone & voice logging

PepStax offers an optional voice feature that lets you log an activity by speaking a command. When you tap “Tap to speak,” PepStax uses your device's microphone and its built-in speech-to-text capability to convert what you say into text. PepStax processes this on your device wherever your device supports on-device speech recognition; on devices that do not, the audio is handled by your platform's speech service (Apple or Google) under their respective privacy policies.

PepStax never records, stores, or transmits your audio to our servers — we operate no servers and keep no copy of your voice. The microphone is used only while you are actively holding the voice feature open, and only to produce the text of your command. You can use the app fully without ever granting microphone access by typing your entries instead.

Subscriptions & purchases

PepStax offers an optional paid Membership. Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple's App Store or Google Play, and are validated through our billing provider, RevenueCat, which acts as a data processor on our behalf. To confirm and restore a subscription, a purchase receipt/token and an anonymous, app-generated identifier are transmitted over an encrypted connection. This identifier is not linked to your name, email, or any account (there is no account), and this information is used only to make subscriptions work — never for advertising, profiling, or tracking. Payment details, such as your card, are handled by Apple or Google, not by PepStax, and we never receive them. Manage or cancel a subscription anytime in your App Store or Google Play account settings.

What we do not collect

We do not collect or process your name, email address, phone number, precise or coarse location, contacts, photos, health or fitness records, messages, or device advertising identifiers. We do not include advertising networks, and we do not use third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We do not sell or share personal information, and PepStax does not engage in “sharing” or “sale” of personal information as defined under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

Children

PepStax is intended only for adults 21 and older and is not directed to children. The app requires an age confirmation at first launch. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Your choices and rights

Because your research data lives only on your device, you are in control of it at all times: you can edit or delete any entry in the app, export a backup, or remove all of it by uninstalling PepStax. Security

Information transmitted for subscription validation is sent over encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but because PepStax keeps your research data on your device and collects no personal profile, the information exposed to any network is deliberately minimal.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the app or legal requirements. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and post the updated policy at this URL. Material changes will be reflected here; your continued use of PepStax after an update means you accept the revised policy.
